Barry is dual-licensed in both Canada and China and brings over a decade of legal experience. He obtained his LL.B. from Peking University, became a lawyer in 2006, and practiced in China, specializing in litigation, corporate governance and commercial law. Barry also served as the legal lead for a multi-billion RMB licensed microfinance corporation, where he gained extensive experience in risk management of commercial loans and enforcement procedures.
Barry has significant experience in Calgary’s construction and real estate industry. He has substantial knowledge of construction and real estate disputes, rezoning, multifamily development, and landlord-tenant disputes.
Barry’s practice areas are commercial/civil litigation, commercial/business law, and banking law. He is also specialized in high-net-worth family trusts, particularly in corporate settings.
Barry also provides cross-border litigation and debt enforcement services between Canada and China. He is committed to delivering exceptional legal services to his clients.
Outside of work, Barry enjoys competitive sports. He grew up playing elite basketball. He is now an ice hockey goaltender and enjoys the big challenges of stopping pucks. When he is not playing, he enjoys watching his kids compete on the ice.
